Patient Testimonials
What was your biggest fear/concern prior to acupuncture? Did it come true, or if not, what happened instead?
The fear of needles and not fully understanding the treatment of acupuncture. Once Dr. Peterson explained the procedure in detail, I felt very comfortable and did not feel the needles during my treatment. It was surprisingly very relaxing.
What specifically were the biggest benefits of your treatment and why?
I was diagnosed with a kidney stone that was causing excruciating pain in my lower left side of my back. I have never experienced such pain before as I am a healthy woman.
After MD and ER evaluations, I was prescribed pain medication that did not help too much but made me sleep; feel nauseated and had to miss work. After day 3, I could not go another day feeling like this, all I kept saying was “I can’t take this anymore”. I then thought of acupuncture after I recently met Dr. Peterson at a networking event. I called Dr. Peterson and inquired if he could provide treatment for the pain I was having from a kidney stone. He assured me that he could help and accommodated me with an appointment right away.
After my treatment, I sat up from the table and I could honestly say that I no longer had the lower back pain, felt regenerated and could stand up straight. I even felt like fine enough to drive home as someone had to drive me to my appointment. Shortly after returning home, I “PASSED” the kidney stone! I felt tremendously better having no more pain and feeling like myself again. Amazing!
If you were to recommend Peterson to your best friend, what would you say?
Acupuncture is very beneficial, a wonderful alternative treatment rather than prescribed medications.

Peterson is a very considerate and compassionate person. He was very informative about the treatment of acupuncture and provided excellent care.
Laura B.What was your biggest fear/concern prior to acupuncture? Did it come true, or if not, what happened instead?
I guess my only concern regarding acupuncture was whether it would really help. I learned over time that it indeed did help with my chronic pain.
What specifically were the biggest benefits of your treatment and why?
While I was recovering from lung cancer, I went and stayed with my aunt in Santa Fe, NM. She introduced me to an acupuncture school that she herself was attending as a patient. The fatigue that resulted from radiation knocked me flat on my back. With the help of acupuncture I was able to become much more active, and the fatigue gradually dissipated. I felt so good that I even washed my aunt’s windows! I felt wonderful having energy again. Acupuncture was a miracle for me!
When I returned home, I again started feeling fatigue. I then started a search for an acupuncture doctor in my area. As luck would have it, I found a kind an knowledgeable Acupuncture Physician not a mile from my home. Dr. Peterson got me started on living my life again. I was always a very active person, but between the fatigue and my chronic pain. I was unable to perform the activities I wanted to. Since going into treatment with Dr. Peterson, I am now able to work one day a week in my chosen profession and to attend to my other social activities. I have also been able to cut back on my medications (with my MD’s knowledge and permission). Praise the Lord! I have been telling my friends about the progress I’ve been making and encouraging them to seek help from Dr. Peterson.

People are leery of needles because “It will hurt too much.” But that’s not the case. I always compare between childbirth and needles, and there’s no correlation between the two.
Rosemary P:What was your biggest fear/concern prior to acupuncture? Did it come true, or if not, what happened instead?
My biggest concerns having acupuncture treatments were that the needle insertion would be painful or complications would arise because of the usage of unsterile needles, both of which were laid to rest when I saw the sterile techniques and equipment (needles) were present in Dr. Peterson’s office.
I had used acupuncture years before seeing Dr. Peterson and my first time it was pleasant but did not last but a couple weeks. The second time I used another doctor whose techniques, while sterile, were somewhat painful and lasted only until I got home and the lower back pain returned. That particular doctor, I felt, didn’t listen to my pain areas and was more interested in setting up a 6-month plan, which was extremely expensive. I went two more times to this doctor all for naught.
What specifically were the biggest benefits of your treatment and why?
I really believe that after a lengthy interview, Dr. Peterson had a real grasp of my condition and told me that more than 1 treatment might be necessary, but that after the first treatment I should notice some relief…which I found after getting off the treatment table. I made three additional appointments and found more relief each time the good doctor worked on my lower back pain. My general practitioner and my neurologist both were pleasantly surprised and after their examination told me to continue with Dr. Peterson’s acupuncture treatments. Today, I am pain free unless I do something stupid like lifting improperly, but the good doctor is there to remedy those aches and pains too.
If you were to recommend Peterson to your best friend, what would you say?
His excellent medical bedside manners and follow-up calls to me to see if there were any problems are a strong indication that he is more than just another practitioner. He takes his time and explains everything he is about to do. His personality is perfect for this profession. We also just sat and talked about things in general before treatment began, which I’m sure was to relax our patient/doctor relationship.
Is there anything more you’d like to add?
If there’s any hesitation about acupuncture and the professional techniques as well as results I will be more than happy to personally vouch for this man’s professionalism and treatment techniques.
